‘Tis definitely the season right now! Christmas parties and weddings galore, and the team at Flash Mob Photo BoothTaranaki have been in attendance around Taranaki and Manawatu for many of them. It has been an immensely busy month for us as we continue to capture people in their very best form – In our photo booth that is!
After our first weekend of gigs, we were booked solid from 20-24 November, sometimes with 2-3 jobs to attend in one day. We were booked in for our first outing at Pukekura Raceway for the Twilight Races – this was a fantastic afternoon in a typically festive environment, a real carnival atmosphere. It was a great experience to be a part of, and we are proud to be booked for every race day during the summer season!
We were also very fortunate and humbled that Brent Taylor from the NZ Tattoo & Art Festival invited us to be present at the TSB Stadium for two massive days of the festival. International pin-up model, Sabina Kelley was a guest in the booth on both days taking some very cool photos with the fans. She absolutely adored the booth and doing the silly poses, enjoying our range of props for use as well. So popular has it been that she has been flashing her photo strips around on her Instagram and Facebook pages – Talk about some amazing marketing!
We also managed to entice some stunning Kiwi burlesque stars into the booth during the two days with both Bonita Danger Doll and Venus Starr making appearances. You could be forgiven for thinking that this was a pretty full on couple of days, and that we’d be relieved to put our feet up at the end of it, well, the fun didn’t stop there. The organisers were so impressed with how Flash Mob Photo Booth Taranaki went, they made the last minute call to have the booth at the official after party at Our Place where we were run off our feet by all the guest/celebrity artists who made the trip over specially for the festival – Even managed to get LA Ink star Dan Smith in the booth along with Beau Brady and others. A huge occasion for us and a couple of days we won’t forget quickly.
On the 27th of November we were back at what felt like our second home – Pukekura Raceway for their turn to host the Chamber of Commerce Business After 5 (BA5) event which allowed other members to try us out and see what we’re about and what we can do. Not only did people really enjoy the event, but we managed to gain a few more bookings for events from the night. Well worth it we say!
Straight after all this, Hamish and I finally made the big move from Auckland after tying up a few loose ends to relocate to our new home in New Plymouth – commuting and living out of a suitcase now over, thank goodness! No time to unpack yet though as it was straight down to Hawera for the South Taranaki District Council (STDC) Mermaids Christmas Party. Another major hit and it was great to get the Mermaids Dance Band girls Pauline, Joe & Amber into the booth too.
The 5th of December saw us back at the usual haunt of Pukekura Raceway for the annual Christmas at the Races. Plenty of Corporate tables booked for the day with a wicked Christmas lunch and our main man DJ DMAN on site mixing the tunes while we attended to the queues of punters lining up for their turn in the photo booth. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather the races were completely abandoned for the day – not that it mattered to us as there was plenty of laughter, banter and entertainment to go around! We will be back for the second instalment of this event on December 23rd.
Friday 6th December saw us back at Our Place for the New Plymouth Professional & Business Women’s Network Christmas Party – complete with the gorgeous Rosalina with some belly dancing from 5th Element. The ladies fully enjoyed the evening and burned through the photos – what we love to see!
Finally, last night we were fortunate to be invited along to Pukeariki Museum for Todd Energy’s Christmas Party. We were warned that things might go a bit slow and that a team of engineers may be a bit sheepish and boring, well, we need to stamp out that stereotype immediately! From start to finish we were running about nonstop, we were even asked to stay longer than the initial booking time due to the popularity.
The past couple of weeks have been an amazing whirlwind of a journey, and as you can see we will be busy for a few weeks yet, rest assured, the team at Flash Mob Photo Booth Taranaki will definitely not be putting up our feet just yet as the lead in to the festive season gathers speed.
